FAITH DAILY

Collect for the Week
Generous God,
whose hand is open
to fill all things living with plenteousness:
make us ever thankful for your goodness,
and grant that we, remembering the account
that we must one day give,
may be faithful stewards of your bounty;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen APBA p.588

GOSPEL for the Day: Luke 12: 8-12

“And I tell you, everyone who acknowledges me before others, the Son of Man also will acknowledge before the angels of God;  but whoever denies me before others will be denied before the angels of God.  And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven; but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. When they bring you before the synagogues, the rulers, and the authorities, do not worry about how you are to defend yourselves or what you are to say;  for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that very hour what you ought to say.”

GOSPEL Reflection : Contributed by Helen Menzies

The overall challenge is an Exhortation to Fearless Confession.
What a loving forgiving father who is willing to forgive the times we don’t get it right even when we speak against the Son of Man.
The Holy Spirit is always there to lead and give us the right words whatever confronting situations we may face in our modern world.
If we truly believed this surely there would be much less anxiety and fear which often lead mental health disturbances.
Yes we need to believe our loving Father and Jesus our Saviour and brother and the Holy Spirit our comforter and leader know about this pandemic that is sweeping the world and will be with us every step of the way as we live our Daily lives wisely, and seek His face.

So let us take the next step in our Faith Journey to day in His Peace.

FINAL PRAYER [The Iona Community Worship Book, The Abbey, Iona, Argyll, 1992] O Christ, there is no plant in the ground
But it is full of your virtue.
There is no form in the strand
But it is full of your blessing.
There is no life in the sea,
There is no creature in the ocean,
There is nothing in the heavens
But proclaims your goodness.
There is no bird on the wind,
There is no star in the sky,
There is nothing beneath the sun
But proclaims your goodness.
Amen.
