Monday Musings 3 June 2019

Dear People of Faith,

The celebration of the birthday of the church, Pentecost, is upon us, next Sunday, as well as the celebration of the patronal day of the Church of the Holy Spirit. It is also a day of special celebration as we welcome 11 young people to share their first Communion – please pray for Pip, Josh, Eleanor, Toby, Joshua, Jacob, Annika, Sienna, Nina, Isla & Neve and for Meredith as she is received into
the Anglican Church.

So next Sunday –

  • Everyone wear red (to symbolise the flames that initiated the spread of Christ’s Word to all nations)
  • Bring some morning tea to share for all services
  • Come and share in the Kenmore church morning tea (all congregations!) after 9am SpiritLife for cake – and jumping castle!

Today, as the W R comes to a close, we continue to pray (from A Prayer Book for Australia p203):

Lord God, bring us together as one, reconciled with you and reconciled with each other.
You made us in your likeness, you gave us your Son, Jesus Christ.
He has given us forgiveness from sin.
Lord God, bring us together as one, different in culture, but given new life in Jesus Christ, together as your body, your Church, your people.
Lord God, bring us together as one, reconciled, healed, forgiven, sharing you with others as you have called us to do.
In Jesus Christ, let us be together as one.  Amen.

With peace blessings on you and yours; Jan
