The hallmark of a Christian community.
An essential part of a faith community is small group life – groups of people who meet to reflect on the God story in the Bible, and how it engages with our own life and the life of creation. The parish has several small groups meeting around different topics – including study on particular books of the Bible; on Prayer; on different church seasons, e.g., Lent; on faith and life. Please contact Rev’d Jan if you are interested in joining a small group.
Meditation is an ancient form of interior, silent prayer, used by the Desert Abbas and Ammas. A single word is repeated interiorly to focus one’s thoughts upon, to quieten one’s busy brain, thus leaving one’s heart open to God’s loving presence.
A meditation group, in association with the World Community for Christian Meditation, is held at Holy Spirit, Kenmore:
Monday evenings: 6:30pm – 7:30pm
Facilitator: Carol Streatfield
