Policies

As an integral part of the Anglican Church in Australia we are committed to and bound by the Policies and Canons of the Anglican Church of Southern Queensland as well as the laws of Queensland and Australia.

The Wardens and Parish Council assist the Priest in Charge with advice on implementing the relevant policies and maintaining our position as a responsible and accountable organisation.

Two particular areas of legal compliance are worth mention :

Duty of Care to the Vulnerable

The Policies of the Diocese concerning working with children and the aged require close attention to assuring the integrity of all persons engaged in these activities. All employees and volunteers involved in Parish activities of this nature are required to satisfy  several levels of compliance, including all aspects of the Diocesan Child Protection Policy, and obtaining and maintaining a Blue Card. In particular fields Police Checks are also required.

Parish activities are governed by the Diocese Child Protection Policy which can be found with related resources at these links -

COVID-19 Safe Plan

Under the current Coronavirus Pandemic conditions Parish activities including Church Services are subject to restrictions on gathering and sanitizing practices. The current “Stage 3” restrictions applying in Queensland have been documented as they apply to both Church Services at Holy Spirit Kenmore and to the use of Parish Halls at Kenmore and Brookfield.

The Policies and Guidelines applying in these cases can be read via the below links -
