Tenebrae Service

Tenebrae means darkness; the service is often referred to as the ‘service of the dark’.  The last words of Christ are read,  and candles extinguished progressively, to symbolise the impending death of Jesus on that Friday.  Beautiful choral music surrounds the process, with the climax in the sung Reproaches of Christ..
